HSC - Milled Wax Patterns

The high speed milling process for wax models is an innovative method for producing patterns. Tooling speeds are from 20,000 to 120,000 / min~(-1) and feeds of 30m / min are used. It has been found possible to mill wax models down to thicknesses of less than 1mm, with good surface quality and dimensional accuracy. The technique of high-speed milling is explained and illustrations are included of prototypes that have been produced.
