Single-layered space frame dome on the top of the Friesland Bank in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands

The tubular steel dome on top of the Friesland bank has been designed and engineered to be suspended between three arched delta trusses, which gives a characteristic internal flow of forces. These characteristic tensile loaded dome was further loaded by a large suspended flat roof, fixed at her bottom around one-third of her circumference. The dome has been clad with double glass panels fixed in vertical aluminium frame members only and siliconed horizontally.
