We have reduced the long aging time of AC PDP with SrO-MgO protecting layer by introducing a special provision to the front dielectric layer. As a result, the panel showed the luminous efficacy improvement at reduced driving voltages after a short aging time.(<3hrs.) In order to use SrO as an alternative for MgO, an in-depth study on high speed addressing of PDP with SrO is necessary. It was confirmed that the address delay as well as the display voltage margin in the SrO panel could be improved with the proper modifications in the conventional ramp reset waveform.
