Hole Induced Vertical Alignment LC Mode for High Transmittance Mobile Displays

摘要

We have developed a novel VA LCD using polymer stabilized liquid crystal technology. The new mode uses a via hole of an organic layer on TFT substrate to achieve multi domain alignment, and is free from the ITO pattern or protrusion on color filter. This technology, named as Hole Induced Vertical Alignment mode (Hi-VA), can realize the transmittance of 135% and the half of response time compared to the conventional VA mode.
