A flexible BLU was created by embedding plasma discharge clusters in a polydimethylsiloane. The light distribution of the BLU was measured at various combination of the optical sheets and compared to the simulated results using ray-tracing method. Brightness uniformity and reduction of the BLU were observed differently in accordance with the number of optical sheets and bending angles. The results from real and imaginary flexible BLU indicate two important factors in the application of flexible light source to be ideal flexible BLU, brightness uniformity at the bending state and at between bending angles.
