The Early Cretaceous Yixian Formation of China has yielded a rich assemblance of lizards,of which Yabeinosaurus tenuis was the first to be described. In recent years, further specimens of this taxon have been recovered from several localities in north-eastern China, but the original holotype was lost in World War 2 and the type locality at Tsaotzushan (=Zaocishan),Liaoning, has not yielded further material. Here we describe a new lizard from the Tsaotzushan locality.
