A clear zinc hydrometallurgical process-the hydrometallurgy of zinc without iron residue was proposed in this paper. By using iron and part of zinc in the zinc sulfidc concentrates and manganese in pyrolusite as their sources, high quality Mn-Zn soft magnetic ferrites can be directly prepared from the zinc sulfide concentrates and pyrolusite in the process, going on premise remaining the neutral leaching, purification,and elcctrowinning in the traditional flow sheet of the hydrometallurgy of zinc.Thc stages for recovering indium and preparing Mn-Zn soft magnetic ferrites include the processing processes such as leaching the residues from the neutral leaching process of zinc calcine with sulphuric acid of high concentration at high tcmperature.redaction and removing copper,exacting indium,the first purify, deeply purify and out of zinc, coprecipitating and the technology for preparing Mn-Zn soft magnetic ferrites. The process can cancel the stage of removing iron in the traditional flow sheet of the hydrometallurgy of zinc to do zero drain off iron residue and sulfur dixide for turning a disadvantage into an advantage and changing waste material into things of value. In the process the flow sheet of the hydrometallurgy of zinc and exactive indium is simplified to greatly increase the recovery ratios of indium and zinc. At the same time can be solved the problem on supply of iron source over a long period of time in the direct-coprccipitation method. The zinc hydrometallurgical process without iron residue will be not only an important revolution on the traditional hydrometallurgy of zinc and exacting indium but also of epoch-making significance of preparing soft magnetic ferrite materials.
