CeO2 hollow nanospheres were synthesized via a facile surfactant-assisted solvothermal route. The synthesized products were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),field emission scanningelectron microscopy(FESEM),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),selected area electrondiffraction(SAED)and N2 adsorption-desorption. TEM results indicated that these hollow sphereshad average diameters of ca. 150 nm. N2 adsorption-desorption showed that the specific surface areaof the nanospheres was 83.2 m2/g. The possible formation mechanism of CeO2 hollow nanosphereshas also been proposed.
