The method involves measuring intensity of supply current of a motor driving a wiper blade using a current sensor, and forming an intensity prediction model. A moment where the intensity is minimum or maximum is predicted using the model and the measured intensity. The moments where the intensity is minimum or maximum correspond to movement time of the blade in one of two end positions and a middle position, respectively. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a method of controlling movement of a windshield wiper blade between two end positions (B) a data storage medium having instructions for executing a method of detecting movement time of a wiper blade (C) a control unit for controlling wiper blade movement device for a motor vehicle.
